INGREDIENTS:
For the patty:
1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean to fat ratio works well)
Salt and pepper to taste
Burger buns
Optional toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, etc.
For the Confidential Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s hot before cooking the patties.
Divide the ground beef into equal portions and form them into balls.
Season each ball of meat with salt and pepper.
Place a ball of meat onto the hot skillet or griddle and immediately press it down with a spatula to flatten it into a patty. The thinner, the better for that crispy edge.
Cook the patties for about 2-3 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your burger more well-done.
